Unity Club Features and Facilities... a Tour

DSC00662.pngIn existence since 1987, The Unity Club of Falls Church, Virginia hosts over 110 12-step meetings per week...

Up the StairsBlah, blah, blah, blah, blah... Let's get real! When you first come to the Unity Club, chances are you're not having the best day of your life. So, we'll try to keep this simple.

That said, here's what you can expect when you have followed the directions to get here, parked your car or walked from the bus stop, and you're ready to enter a fellowship that may solve whatever problem you are experiencing.

Pay no attention to the people milling around outside the building.  Chances are they are just like you, or once were; nervous, emotionally drained, but eager to find a better way.

Look for the Club's front door, a small unassuming door with a big blue awning emblazoned with our logo is where you're headed.  Go ahead, open the door and step inside.  Not too hard, now was it.  Go up the stairs.  Go on, you can do it.

Meeting Room 1There, you've done it, the hardest part is over.  You're in the Unity Club.  You're amongst friends--men and women who have shared many of your same experiences.  Now, you are not alone!

To your right, upon entry into the Club, is Meeting Room #1.  This is often referred to as "The Main Room" as it is our largest.  If there is not a meeting in progress, then feel free to poke around, get familiar with these new surroundings.  Read the twelve-steps and twelve-traditions of AA (applicable to all the fellowships hosted by the Unity Club)

K and K KoffeehouseStraight ahead from the entry is the coffee bar, The Lotus Cafe.

Beyond the crass commercialism, this is where our guests and members can sit and relax, grab a cup of coffee, a soda, or have a snack.  Perhaps our guests use the free Wi-Fi to check email or browse the web, or ask questions of the mostly friendly staff. (you may get growled at from time-to-time, but they rarely bite)

Unity Club Meeting Room 2Be sure to ask the coffee bar staff for a copy of the Club's meeting schedule and where the donation box is located (hint, hint)

Adjacent to the Lotus Cafe are meeting rooms 2, 3, and 4, as well as the Happy, Joyous, & Free gift shop

Meeting Room 2 is our second largest and hosts some of the Club's most popular meetings.  Meeting rooms 3 and 4 are smaller, more intimate rooms.  So, if a large meeting isn't your thing, then check the schedule for your fellowship meetings held in rooms 3 or 4.

That's it!  Well, for the public, anyway.  There are some behind the scenes features like storerooms, a duck pin bowling alley, the stadium for hairless cat races & turtle fights, a barber shop/salon, etc.  Now c’mon!  If you want to know what's behind closed doors, then VOLUNTEER and we'll show you right where all the brooms and mops are stored.

Oh geeze-o-pete, the bathrooms, almost forgot to tell you where the bathrooms are located.  From the Coffee Bar, go right, down the dark scary hallway, turn left, then right, then the doors are on the right.  And yes, we're fancy, we have both mens' and womens' facilities.

Okay, now that's really truly it.  Done. Finito.   And on a serious note, do yourself a favor--keep coming back, it works!
